Vampires have always fueled the imagination of people from all over the world, irrespective of their age. Vampires are forces associated with darkness just like demons and the most recent addition, the death eaters. Supernatural drama series have always garnered the attention of the viewers because they see their imagination being brought to life. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one among such series that people have been able to relate to.
The title character Buffy belongs to the category of Slayers. Buffy is being guided, taught, aided and trained by a Watcher. However, what sets her apart from the rest of the Slayers is the fact that she has got a strong circle of close friends who are referred to as the “Scooby Gang”.

When this series was being aired, it has about four million to six million viewers for the original episodes which is no small number at all. This series was nominated for the Golden Globe and Emmy awards which not a lot of serials can boast of. This series also prides on the fact that it was rated #3 among the top 25 Cult TV shows ever made. It also gets the honor of finding a place in the 100 best TV shows of all time compiled by none other than TIME’s magazine.
A series call “Angel” was a spinoff of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This series has also given rise to a line of merchandize and toys not to mention being adapted as novels, comic books and video games.
